INDUSTRY READY
You’ve trained. You’ve performed. Now it’s time to get industry ready.
A practical, hands-on professional development workshop for performers aged 11+ who are ready to take their first steps towards the professional industry.
What does it actually take to get an agent?
What should an acting CV look like?
How do you create a professional self-tape?
What happens when a casting comes through?
And where do you even start looking for opportunities?
Industry Ready is designed to answer those questions — and, more importantly, give performers the chance to actually put those skills into practice.
This isn’t a sit-down careers talk.
It’s 4 hours of practical industry experience, designed to give young performers the tools, confidence and knowledge they need to start navigating the next stage of their journey.
THIS IS WHERE TRAINING MEETS THE REAL WORLD.
During the workshop, performers will work through the key areas they need to understand when beginning their professional journey — from building their professional package to approaching agents, tackling self-tapes and creating a realistic plan for what comes next.
01 / BUILD YOUR PROFESSIONAL PACKAGE
First impressions matter.
Discover what makes a strong professional package and how to start presenting yourself as a performer.
We’ll cover:
Headshots • Acting CVs • Spotlight • Casting Profiles
And you’ll even have the opportunity to take part in a mini professional headshot session during the workshop.
02 / UNDERSTAND REPRESENTATION
Want an agent? Start by understanding what they actually do.
We’ll break down the world of representation, including:
Finding the right agents • What agents look for • Approaching agencies • Professional communication
You’ll learn how to research representation and how to approach agencies in a way that feels professional, confident and appropriate.
03 / MASTER THE SELF-TAPE
The casting happens. The camera comes on. What do you do?
Self-tapes are a huge part of the modern casting process, so performers will get the chance to actually step in front of the camera and practise.
We’ll cover:
Understanding casting briefs • Self-tape setup • Framing • Eyelines • Lighting • Sound • On-camera performance
Performers will be able to see their framing in real time and selected tapes can be played back for practical feedback and guidance.
No hiding at the back.
No just watching someone else do it.
You’ll actually do it.
04 / CREATE YOUR NEXT STEP
Knowing what you could do is one thing.
Knowing what you should do next is another.
We’ll look at:
Finding opportunities • Building experience • Industry etiquette • Professional expectations
Every performer will then create their own Professional Action Plan, giving them clear and realistic next steps based on where they are right now.

Take part in a mini headshot session with a media student photographer during the workshop and receive one edited digital headshot afterwards.

Week-Long Workshops (Full Experience)
- Mon–Thu: Rehearsals in acting, singing & dance, plus creative team activities
- Fri: Show Day – full performance with costumes, lighting & sound for family and friends

- Fun, focused mini-projects (e.g. K-Pop, Little Shop of Horrors and other themed musicals)

- Ends with a mini-showcase for parents on Day 2

- A single day of high-energy theatre fun
- Scenes, songs & routines themed to the project
- Ends with a presentation to parents at pick-up

Your child must be actively attending The Star Project Theatre School at the time of both booking and participation.
If your child is not attending the school at the time of the workshop, the remaining 10% balance will be payable on the first day.
